Utubersity

The technological tool I want to share is utubersity (http://utubersity.com/) is a website that presents educational videos available on YouTube in an organized, easy to find way to watch and learn. They are classified and tagged in a way that enables people to find these materials more easily and efficiently. The website also enhances the experience using other means such as recommending related videos, Wikipedia content and so on. This is great resource, since it exposes the material in way that we, as the educators, may not have previously thought of. For example, on the Spanish version called utubersidad (http://utubersidad.com), there is a video about the key player of the Mexican revolutionary war, what the causes of the war were, and the different points of view of each key player. Except that it is not a lecture, but filmed in a Jerry Springer Show style, that (while very educational) is quite entertaining. Therefore, in addition to finding new ways to expose the material to the learners, I can also use it as optional resources or as a starting point for my student that feel more comfortable with multimedia resources.
